WFDF Congress Approves New Anti-Doping Rules and 2011-13 Anti-Doping Plan

The World Flying Disc Federation announces approval of the WFDF Anti-Doping Rules Version 2.0 (based upon 2009 revised WADA Code) during the 2011 WFDF Congress held August 27 in Lignano Sabbiadoro, Italy. The Code was approved by all members present with one abstention and was effective as of 1 September 2011. The WFDF Anti-Doping Program Plan 2011-2013 was also approved by Congress members with one abstention.
WADA Publishes the Annex to the International Standard on Protection of Privacy and Personal Information
02 June 2011During its meeting of May 14, 2011, the WADA Executive Committee approved the Annex to the International Standard on the Protection of Privacy and Personal Information. This document identifies the maximum retention time of data collected within the anti-doping framework. For the sake of clarity, we wish to highlight the following to our stakeholders:
- This document now forms an integral part of the International Standard on the Protection of Privacy and Personal Information and is therefore mandatory;
- As indicated in the document, the deletion of data will take place on a quarterly basis, and not on a daily basis;
- For those categories of data which are marked to be kept indefinitely, there is no maximum retention time indicated and stakeholders are free to decide how long they want to store such data, provided of course that they respect any national law requirements.
WADA suspends accreditation of Turkish Doping Control Center

Further to WADA’s press release regarding suspension of accreditation for the Turkish Doping Control Center (TDDC), please be advised that the suspension is not for six months as originally stated.
The suspension will be until WADA fully reviews the case.
