The World Flying Disc Federation (WFDF) is pleased to announce that the WFDF 2016 World Ultimate Championships from London will air on CBS Sports Network. The two-hour program will air twice across North America on Saturday, June 25 (same day delay) and will feature the Mixed Gender Finals competition and include highlights of the Men’s and Women’s Finals, in addition to footage from preliminary rounds of play and features.

The quadrennial World Ultimate Championships (www.wugc2016.com) will be held 18-25 June 2016 at the University College London Sports Ground, with the final day’s competition to take place at Allianz Park. Three thousand athletes from 39 countries are expected to participate in the men’s, women’s, mixed gender, and masters divisions.  The World Ultimate Championships have been held since 1983 and are the premier world championships of the sport of Flying Disc, which has an estimated 7.5 million active players worldwide.  In addition to the CBS Sports Network telecast, WFDF will be live-streaming over 20 games throughout the week leading up to the finals on Saturday.

“We are very excited to be working with CBS Sports Network for the North American telecast of our premier championships,” stated Robert “Nob” Rauch, WFDF President.  “For WFDF, this is our most significant major network coverage to date reflecting the growth and recognition of the sport and it is a key element in our strategy to raise the profile of the sport as we continue our search for a global brand sponsor.”

CBS Sports Network, the 24-hour home of CBS Sports, is available across the country through local cable, video and telco providers and via satellite on DirecTV Channel 221 and Dish Network Channel 158.
