The World Flying Disc Federation is pleased to announce that the WFDF 2015 Asia Oceanic Ultimate Championships (AOUC) 2015 will be hosted in Hong Kong. The event will be held from November 27-29, 2015 at the facilities at the “Happy Valley Recreation Ground” and “So Kon Po Sports Ground” on 8 Ultimate fields. The finals will be staged in the stadia of the “Tai Hang Tung Recreation Ground” (4 fields) and “Mong Kok Stadium” (2 fields), on Sunday, November 29, 2015. The Mong Kok Stadium is the major venue used by the Hong Kong Football Association for First Division League football matches, Cup competitions, International football matches such as Asian Football Confederation Cup and training session for Hong Kong Football Representative Teams.

The successful bid came from the Hong Kong Ultimate Players Association (HKUPA) with a team headed by Vice-President Michael Hsu and Tournament Director Wanda Yuen. The Tournament Organising Committee (TOC) expects more than 20 teams from countries from Asia and Oceania like Japan, People`s Republic of China, Chinese Taipei, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, India and Australia to compete in the event. Divisions played will be Open, Mixed and Women’s divisions.

"WFDF is pleased to have found this host in Asia with Hong Kong being one of the most important Flying Disc communities in the region. The enthusiasm and experience of the Organizers around Tournament Director Wanda Yuen and HKUPA Vice-President Michael Hsu will guarantee a great event in a fantastic venue. The proximity to several Ultimate countries in Asia will make sure that the event is truly a Continental happening in Asia and Oceania,” stated WFDF President Robert "Nob" Rauch.

"We are excited to bring the 2015 WFDF AOUC to ‘Asia's world city,’ " said Michael Hsu, Vice President of the Hong Kong Ultimate Players Association and AOUC 2015 Executive Director. "Hong Kong’s famous skyscraper skyline will provide the backdrop for the region's premier tournament. We are thrilled to have athletes from this part of the world converging upon Mong Kok Stadium to showcase what the sport has to offer. We hope this tournament will drive further growth in Ultimate both in Hong Kong and around the region."

TOC has gained multiple years of experience hosting team and hat tournaments at their largest featured venues at Happy Valley Recreation Ground and Tai Hang Tung Recreation Ground. The annual Hong Kong Pan Asian tournament (HKPAT) has a history starting in the 1990s and in 2014, 16 teams around Asia attended with play on four Ultimate fields over two days. The last AOUC was hosted in Kaohsiung, Chinese Taipei, in 2011 and had 9 teams participating in two divisions. AOUC2015 in Hong Kong has the capacity for the same or an increased number of teams and divisions.
