WFDF releases updated World Ultimate Ranking list
31 August 2015
Today WFDF released an update to the World Ultimate Ranking list for WFDF member nations who have participated in major events over the past 4 years. This update takes into the account the recent results from the WFDF World Under 23 Ultimate Championships, held from July 11 to 18 in London.
Rankings are based on the finishing position of each country’s top team in each playing division from the most recent Ultimate events as follows:
- World Ultimate Club Championships (2014), WUCC
- World Ultimate and Guts Championships (2012), WUGC
- World Under-23 Ultimate Championships (2015), WU23
- World Ultimate Junior Championships (2014), WJUC
- World Championships of Beach Ultimate (2015), WCBU
“Points are accumulated based on the finishing position of the highest ranked team for each country in each playing division, with a maximum number of points awarded to the first place team equal to the number of countries participating in that division,” explained WFDF Ultimate Committee chair Brian Gisel. “The number of points awarded is reduced by 1 for each lower finishing position. For example, in a division with 10 different countries, the highest ranked country receives 10 points, the second ranked country receives 9 points, the third 8 points and so on. These rankings will be updated at the conclusion of each major event listed above.”
