Disc golf is the flying disc variant of the game of golf. Instead of with a ball and (many different) golf-clubs this game is played with a frisbee or flying disc.

Players traverse a course making as few throws as possible in reaching objects placed strategically throughout the area. Many terms you will encounter in ball golf are also familiar in disc golf. For example: tee, hole, hole in one, putt, approach, birdie, par, drive.

Disc golf is often played in a public park where many obstacles such as trees and water are to be met. As such it is a recreational sport in the open air, for people of all ages and of all skill levels.

World Overall Champions Crowned in Ithaca, NY

Competitors from Canada, Germany, Japan, Sweden and the United States were put to the test in Accuracy, Discathon, Disc Golf, Self Caught Flight, Distance, Double Disc Court and Freestyle en route to naming the WFDF World Overall Champions for 2007. The week long event run by Mandy Carreiro, Paul Brenner and Harvey Brandt took place in Ithaca, NY from July 9th through July 14th. more

San Francisco Disc Golf Club Makes the News

This Saturday morning at 10 a.m., an opening ceremonies will celebrate the new, world class 18-hole disc golf course built in and around Marx Meadow in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco. $50,000 in public donations and 4,000 hours of volunteer labor made this possible. Ithaca, NY, USA to Host 2007 World Overall Championships

The World Flying Disc Federation has announced Ithaca, NY as the host city for this year's World Overall Championships. The event will take place from July 9-14, 2007 in conjunction with the World Masters and Juniors Overall Tournament. Long time overall players Mandy Carreiro and Paul Brenner are co-directing the event, with competitions scheduled for Disc Golf, Discathon, Self Caught Flight, DDC, Accuracy, Distance and Freestyle. Sandstrom wins World Overall title

Christian Sandstrom has been crowned WFDF World Overall Champion for the third time. He narrowly took the title over Harvey Brandt and Conrad Damon at the recent World Championships in San Diego.
