The World Flying Disc Federation (“WFDF”) is pleased to announce that WFDF will be featured on TAFISA’s Social Media channels in the frame of the TAFISA Family Day. With more than 270 members from over 150 countries on all continents, TAFISA aims to achieve an “active world’ by globally promoting and facilitating access for every person to Sport for All and physical activity.

An online campaign, the TAFISA Family Day celebrates the members’ commitment for a better world. TAFISA Family Day is a great opportunity for the members to share their efforts in combatting physical inactivity through Sport for All and increase awareness within TAFISA Family and the global Sport for All Movement.

“WFDF believes that the portfolio of Flying Disc sports are accessible over one’s entire lifetime. Moreover, there is a lifestyle aspect and culture that is embraced by participants, making it the ideal sport for people of all skill levels and ages. Flying disc provides a unifying spirit that leads to lifelong friendships, camaraderie, teamwork, and loyalty that transcends cultural, geographic, political, and religious differences and epitomizes the true values of the Sport for all Movement,” commented WFDF President Robert “Nob” Rauch on the question what Sport for All means to WFDF.

Describing some of his favorite moments within Sport for All, Rauch added: “One especially vivid memory was during the World Urban Games in Budapest in 2019, where we watched a youngster aged 6 who was curious about what the players do with a “flying disc.” After some very clumsy initial throws, after only a couple minutes he was able to successfully throw and catch, resulting in a big smile. On the other end of the spectrum, we had a report about Mary Low in the USA who just this last week broke the Over-90 age group distance record, throwing the disc 38.8 meters.  It lights up one heart when you see that people of all ages, different cultural and national backgrounds, can have success in playing – that is what “sport for all” is about, isn’t it ?”

The Association For International Sport for All (TAFISA) is the leading international Sport for All association.
